Payment, VAT 18% and B2B invoicing

How payment, VAT 18% and B2B invoicing work for corporate merch in Georgia: RS.ge e-invoice, bank transfer, BOG / TBC / TeraBank, EUR / USD / GEL, and what corporate buyers should expect on the paperwork.

Context

The financial mechanics for corporate merch — how to pay, how the invoice is issued, how VAT 18% flows through RS.ge, and what the cross-border payment routes look like.

Corporate merch in Georgia is produced in Tbilisi — decoration in Saburtalo, Nadzaladevi and Gldani, dispatch across the country and abroad under DCFTA. The standard MOQ is 30 units; premium VIP programmes from 10 units; volume pricing above 500 units. Quotes are in GEL for Georgian-resident buyers (VAT 18% via RS.ge), EUR/USD for export.

Frequently asked questions

How do we pay?

Three options: (1) Bank transfer in GEL to our BOG or TBC Bank account, with the RS.ge e-invoice as the payment reference. (2) Bank transfer in USD or EUR for cross-border orders, with our correspondent bank details on the quote. (3) Card payment through the secure payment link on the invoice — supported for Visa, Mastercard, AmEx, and the local BOG Pay / TBC Pay wallets.

What is the VAT treatment?

For Georgian-resident buyers we add 18% VAT to the quoted price and issue a VAT-inclusive RS.ge e-invoice. The buyer claims the input VAT against their output VAT liability in the same filing period. For DCFTA-eligible export orders to the EU the goods are zero-rated for Georgian VAT (we issue a zero-rated invoice) and the buyer accounts for VAT in the destination country under the reverse-charge mechanism.

What banks do you work with?

Our primary banking partners are Bank of Georgia (BGEO) and TBC Bank, with secondary relationships at Credo Bank, TeraBank, and Basis Bank. For cross-border payments we use Bank of Georgia’s correspondent network (Commerzbank, Citi, Raiffeisen) and TBC’s correspondent network. The bank details are on the quote and the RS.ge invoice.

Can we pay in cryptocurrency?

No. Corp-Merch does not accept cryptocurrency as a payment method. The Georgian tax framework requires VAT-registered vendors to settle in fiat through a regulated bank, and our banking partners do not yet process crypto-to-fiat conversion for B2B settlement.

Do you offer credit terms for repeat buyers?

Yes. After the first three orders settled on time, we offer 30-day payment terms on approved credit. The credit limit scales with the order history and the buyer’s RS.ge-reported turnover. Credit applications are reviewed by our finance team within 2–3 business days; the response includes the credit limit, the term, and any conditions.

What if our finance team needs a W-8, W-9, or other tax form?

For US persons we file the appropriate W-8BEN-E through our bank. For other jurisdictions we provide a certificate of residence and a tax residency confirmation upon request. The documents are issued by the Georgian Revenue Service and are typically processed within 5–10 business days.

Additional context

In Georgia the standard decoration method depends on run size and audience. For textile orders above 100 units we recommend silkscreen (cotton, polo) or embroidery (premium). For short runs and complex artwork we recommend DTF or DTG. For hard goods we recommend laser engraving, UV print, pad printing, and debossing.

For cross-border orders we prepare the EUR.1 movement certificate under DCFTA, the CMR consignment note for road freight, and the RS.ge e-invoice for Georgian-resident buyers. Banking partners are Bank of Georgia and TBC Bank; for export we use the BOG correspondent network (Commerzbank, Citi, Raiffeisen).
